We have a rich experience in providing solutions for the public sector and have established great business relationships with leaders at different levels of government throughout the province.

We are a qualified supplier of Data Science and Data Visualization services for the government of British Columbia.

BC Housing Market data visualization

Our expertise was recognized by British Columbia provincial government, as we were selected a winner of BC Housing Data Visualization Challenge, awarded at BCTech Summit in Vancouver by government agencies Innovate BC (former BC Innovation Council) and BC Stats.

Our solution was developed using open source R statistical programming language and related frameworks and packages. It covered visualization of vast amount of data from publicly available socio-economic datasets, including Census 2016 and 2011, National Household Survey, Property Transfer Tax, and others.

To quote BC Innovation Council, “Ruby Industries combined a variety of data visualization approaches in a way that makes significant improvements to the accessibility and readability of BC Stats’ housing data.”.

The public availability of the application was announced by BC Stats in their Infoline: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/data/statistics/infoline/infoline-2020/20-36-bc- housing-market-app, and is publicly available on their cloud platform at https://bcstats.shinyapps.io/housing-data-challenge-ruby/.
